XSS stands for cross site scripting, a type of 'hacking' that is used by bots to spam phishing links or hijack websites though login forms. Most of the attacks that you'll experience are from bots, as what happened to me. The bot attempted to link me to a website that is a 'under development' page for a site trying to be bought out. The link was sent to me as seen below.
Name: <strong><a href="https://pr-site[.]com">primer-1</a></strong>Email: redacted Subject: <strong><a href="https://pr-site[.]com">primer-6</a></strong>Message: <strong><a href="https://pr-site[.]com">primer-8</a></strong>
Brackets added to prevent links from being created.
The bot didn't do anything, I just thought it would be good to raise awareness.
